About Us
75 Reid Street is home to and lovingly curated by Fitzroy North Community Church, a curious, queer-affirming congregation that has been a presence in the neighbourhood since 1890.
The building was constructed in the 1920s as a safe space for local kids. Believe it or not, the main auditorium was once a basketball court! We have this to thank for our beautiful, high-arched ceiling.
We hope to carry on the tradition of being a place for life in the Inner North and, wherever possible, make our building available for joy, connection, nourishment and community in a space-poor neighbourhood. As you can imagine, a building of this age and size comes with significant overheads, but we are committed to ensuring our prices remain as accessible as possible.
Our approach utilises the income from private and corporate hire to both maintain the building and subsidise partnerships with not-for-profits, charities, the arts, and community groups. We offer a standard discount to these organisations, as well as numerous longer-term formal partnerships.
