Mavens Magazine.

Mavens is an Australian magazine dedicated to championing women in the advertising, marketing and media industries. In September 2023, they launched their second annual print issue at 75 Reid, with support from shEqual, an initiative of Women’s Health Victoria.

The speaker event, titled ‘Visibility For Change’, welcomed 150 local and interstate guests with panellists including Ruhee Meghani (Allied Collective), Shyaire Ganglani (Associate Creative Director and Spoken Word Poet), Lisa Cox (TedX Speaker and Author) and Amber Bonney (Founder and CEO, The Edison Agency). As well as a keynote from the magazine’s cover talent Tiff Ng from The Social Story. They spoke about the gender pay gap, policy making, personal adversities, agency and studio culture, and pathways for women especially those facing intersectional career barriers.

75 Reid provided full-service event support including equipment set-up, lighting and sound, and use of the commercial kitchen for local women-owned business Lumos Bakery. Mavens were able to serve drinks from their sponsors and make all their guests comfortable, including those with accessibility requirements. Speakers were also able to access the green room for a true VIP experience.

Says Mavens Founder Leah Morris: ‘75 Reid was the perfect venue for us because we are a creative bunch – we wanted something charming and different. It offered everything we needed with ample space and amenities, and the Fitzroy North location was easily accessible from the city. Venue Manager Jade was super helpful and flexible, ensuring our team and suppliers had access to the space for setup and packdown. We were absolutely thrilled with the whole experience and would love to hold another event there in the future.’
